Received his PhD in Physical Therapy and Motor Rehabilitation in 1989 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) where he was a research associate at the Department of Anatomy. Associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) in 1992. Invited professor at the Technical University Lisbon, Faculty of Human Kinetics (PT) from 1996 to 2009. Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Performance, The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NO). Research interest in applied (sports) biomechanics and kinesiological electromyography. Joao Paulo Vilas Boas is the Full Professor of Biomechanics at Porto University, Sport Faculty and serves as Vice-President of the Faculty Scientific Board. Vilas-Boas serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Tomorrow Options - Microelectronics, S.A. He is also a member of the Steering Group 'Biomechanics and the World Commission of Sports Biomechanics', and Vice-President of the Portuguese Swimming Federation and a former Olympic swimming coach. His research interests are in Biomechanics and Sports Medicine, namely swimming.

Pedro Pezarat-Correia, born in 1958, obtained his PhD degree in Human Kinetics (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa – Portugal) in 1995. Currently is Associated Professor of the Universidade de Lisboa where he is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Motor Behavior and teaches the disciplines of Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology and Neuromuscular Function. He is the (co-) author of about 40 peer reviewed international publications. Research topics: electromyography, neuromuscular function, muscle coordination.

Maria Isabel Hartillo obtained her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Sevilla. Since 2008 she is a reader at the Department of Applied Mathematics, in the University of Sevilla. Previously she was also reader at the Department of Applied Mathematics in the University of Cádiz, from 1998 until 2008. She was a visitor researcher at the MSRI in Berkeley. Actually her research interests are focus on Operational Research using Computer Algebra, mainly the exact solutions of single objective non-linear integer programming problems, and also the computation of the Pareto set for multi objective linear integer programming problems. ... A. Carrasco received his Computer Engineering degree in 1998 and his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2003 from the University of Seville (Spain). Since 1997, he has worked for several companies in the area of software engineering and computer networks, has founded a new tecnology-based company (NTBF) and he has actively participated and directed several R&D projects.
